• Road Infrastructure

In addition to filling potholes and maintaining our roads, the city has the responsibility of address traffic concerns.

When we take on a new design project, big or small, it is essential that we engage neighbors for feedback and collaboration throughout the process.

Building a city that works for residents means considering resident testimonials when making decisions that impact neighborhoods.

This is why I routinely call residents and communicate through my News Letter in advance of community meetings or big projects - to spread the word and encourage participation.

  • Blight

Fighting blight requires collaboration between city departments, residents, and elected officials. The legal processes around probate and property neglect often allow properties to fall into disrepair before we can intervene. This is frustrating and often feels unfair to neighbors.

As a ward counselor, I take a proactive approach: I monitor chronically problematic properties, check in before neighbors have to call, and follow up consistently to help ensure responsible parties are held accountable. This hands-on approach isn’t optional, it’s how we protect the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

  • Smart Growth

Pittsfield’s future depends on smart growth and economic diversity: attracting businesses that create good jobs, revitalizing our downtown, and investing in infrastructure that supports residents and entrepreneurs. By prioritizing sustainable development and a diverse local economy, we can build a city where opportunity is accessible.

  • Downtown

Let’s fill our storefronts with businesses that draw people of all ages and encourage them to explore multiple destinations downtown. Pittsfield has so much to offer, and by celebrating our successes while making thoughtful improvements where needed, we can change perceptions, boost visitation, and rebuild community pride.

At the same time, we must face our social challenges with practical, humane, evidence-based interventions- solutions that allow neighbors and businesses to thrive in a safe, welcoming environment. That’s why I’ve been a strong supporter of expanding our Co-Responder program, collaborating with service agencies to identify gaps in care, and strengthening sanitation initiatives to ensure our downtown remains vibrant and inviting.

  • Safe, Healthy, Thriving Neighborhoods

Strong neighborhoods are the backbone of Pittsfield. By addressing quality of life issues like blight, unsafe housing, and neglected infrastructure, we can ensure every family feels safe, supported, and proud of the place they call home.
